Becoming a Servant Leader

Course Information

In this workshop, we will explore the mindset shift from a command and control leader to a helpful and servicing leader. We will discuss the business case to start the learning journey to becoming a servant leader. The key idea is that leaders who desire to unlock the abilities of others to get things done must choose daily to see their world through different lenses, which allows them to focus on others while realizing as a servant leader it is never about themselves. When leaders adapt this paradigm shift, everything changes as to what they have been taught and believe about leading people. Leaders will never see planning, delegation, accountability, corrective action, problem solving, innovation, creativity, and disruptive thinking the same. In fact, with your new lenses, development of your people will have an entirely new focus.
 
With 80 million millennials in the workforce, leading across generations has never been as important nor the stakes so high. Very little has been accomplished with employee engagement because it is not a management issue; rather it is a leadership issue. More specifically, servant leadership is a shift from control to helpfulness. This is a performance pathway and learning journey all leaders need to take.
